Rena Brooks
Welcome to The Growing World of Rena Brooks, the online home of Rena Brooks Books. I’m Rena Brooks, the author behind these children’s books, created to encourage kindness, curiosity, confidence, and a love of reading.
My love of writing began when I was just 10 years old. I filled spiral notebooks with stories, thoughts, and ideas, never imagining where that love of writing might someday lead. In fact, I still have notebooks filled with my writing from those early years—a lifetime of words, imagination, and creativity tucked away in their pages.
That passion followed me into adulthood. In college, I majored in English with a minor in psychology. Although I didn’t complete a degree, I continued learning throughout the years, taking numerous courses in writing and art, always finding new ways to explore and express my creativity.
My interest in both writing and psychology has given me a lasting appreciation for the way stories can influence how children see themselves, understand others, and discover the world around them.
Why I Write
Writing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but creating these books has given that lifelong passion a much deeper purpose.
I feel a deep, personal calling to make a positive difference in children’s lives. My faith has helped shape that calling, along with a growing concern that many of the values that help children build strong character, healthy relationships, and confidence in themselves are too often overlooked.
I believe every child deserves to feel valued, capable, included, and encouraged, regardless of their background, circumstances, or abilities.
Through my books, I hope to nurture kindness, honesty, compassion, perseverance, responsibility, curiosity, and self-worth. I want children to recognize their own strengths, explore their interests, and discover possibilities for their futures they may never have imagined.
Of course, like any author, I hope my books find success. But making money was never the reason I began creating them.
For me, writing these books is about giving something back.
I have been blessed with a lifelong love of storytelling, imagination, and creativity, and I want to use those gifts to contribute something positive to the lives of others. If my stories can help children develop confidence, encourage kindness, inspire curiosity, or simply bring a little joy into their day, then I believe they have served a worthwhile purpose.
My greatest hope is that these books will reach children who need encouragement, spark meaningful conversations between children and the adults who care for them, and leave something positive behind.
I don’t believe children’s books have to preach to teach. Sometimes a little laughter, an unexpected adventure, a relatable character, or a simple act of kindness can leave an impression that lasts long after the final page.
That is what I hope to accomplish through Rena Brooks Books.
I write because I believe these stories have something worthwhile to give. I write because I care about the children who will read them. And I write because, in my heart, I feel compelled to share them.
If even one child is helped by something I’ve written—if one child feels more valued, more confident, or more hopeful—then every bit of effort I’ve put into these books will have been worthwhile.
